Harris Legal Search has been exclusively engaged by Limeade to recruit a VP, Legal to be based at their headquarters in Bellevue, WA.  The position reports to the VP, Finance and has 2 direct reports, a Corporate Counsel and a Contracts Manager.

Limeade seeks a passionate, driven transactional lawyer to be a leader within the company.  The successful candidate must be willing and able to handle legal issues across all departments while working closely with the company’s top executives.


The VP, Legal will:

  • Provide guidance and problem solving on a full range of legal issues, including HIPAA and GDPR regulatory compliance, sales and partner contracts, vendor management, insurance, risk management, intellectual property, employment, governance, financings, and other general corporate matters.
  • Manage all legal and compliance matters, including outside counsel.
  • Work primarily with the sales and partner teams, negotiating strategic enterprise and technology licensing agreements and assisting with Limeade’s global expansion. Typical transactions will range from standard contracts to complex high-dollar value strategic agreements.
  • Serve as the key compliance officer for GDPR and HIPAA compliance.


  • 10+ years of legal experience post law school at a law firm or in-house technology company.
  • JD degree with excellent academical credentials and current WA bar membership in good standing.
  • Strong transactional experience, with expert drafting and negotiation skills.
  • Knowledgeable and experienced with HIPAA and GDPR and a strong understanding of privacy regulations.
  • Strong familiarity with IT/technology transactions or enterprise sales transactions.
  • Excellent verbal, analytical, and written communication skills.
  • Able to prioritize appropriately and manage multiple tasks.
  • History of teamwork and willingness to roll up one’s sleeves to get the job done.
  • Must have the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve business results.
  • Customer service oriented, with a strong sense of humor, unquestioned ethics and integrity.
  • Experience working in a demanding, high paced, high volume transaction environment.
  • Must enjoy being continually challenged under tight deadlines while demonstrating sound judgment even in ambiguous situations.
