The focus of this position is to provide expert legal advice and counsel supporting the negotiation, formation, and administration of contracts with the U.S. Department of Defense, its military services, agencies, and with supporting commercial suppliers. Boeing Global Services is a global leader in the provision of aerospace services and the supply of aftermarket parts, equipment and service offerings to commercial and government customers around the world. The successful candidate will serve as the primary legal advisor to portions of the U.S. Government services business, including Boeing subsidiary companies.
Desired Legal Competencies: Preferred candidates shall have demonstrated knowledge, ability and experience in the following areas: (1) The provision of proactive, business-oriented legal advice supporting the formation, execution, and administration of U.S. Government contracts and complex commercial contracts. (2) The provision of advice and counsel concerning all aspects of international transactions, including complex international sales agreements, offset requirements; and compliance with respect to export and import laws, The Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, and other government regulations. (3) The handling of complex contract litigation and bankruptcy matters. (4) Legal entity formation, management and restructuring.
Desired Leadership Competencies: Preferred candidates shall have exceptional communication and strategic thinking skills, strong analytical and advisory talents and demonstrated success in a variety of challenging and diverse legal roles. Preferred candidates will also be team-oriented with positive disposition and attitude. As the position will involve extensive interaction with senior business and program executives, preferred candidates will also have demonstrated ability to couple legal advice with pragmatic business solutions, and the ability to proactively identify issues and develop and provide training as required. Previous law firm, in-house, or government experience serving in positions of significant responsibility preferred.
Other Job Related Information: Five or more years of substantial relevant experience or equivalent is desired. An active U.S. Government security clearance or ability to obtain a security clearance is preferred. A bachelor’s degree, Juris Doctorate degree, and law license are required, with the ability or eligibility to practice law in the state of Missouri. Preferred candidates should also be open and flexible to future relocation and growth within the Boeing Law Department.
