Harris Legal Search has been hired by a NASDAQ-traded biopharmaceutical company to recruit an experienced regulatory attorney.

This position provides legal counsel and support for the Company’s operations relating to commercial compliance, legal contracts, and other legal matters.  Responsibilities include: providing legal advice across business functions pertaining to a variety of contract, healthcare, and compliance matters; drafting and negotiating contracts related to the Company’s operations, including service agreements, consulting agreements, discount pricing agreements, and a variety of other agreements related to the Company’s business; and assisting with and advising on the Company’s healthcare law compliance programs.  

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drafts, reviews, and negotiates contracts for the Company’s commercial activities, including service agreements, consulting agreements, pricing agreements, and government and payer contracts.
  • Maintain registrations related to manufacturing and selling pharmaceutical products.
  • Manage and ensure compliance with the Company’s obligations to report under states’ pricing transparency laws.
  • Provides a variety of legal services supporting the Company’s commercial activities.
  • Assists with operation of the Company’s healthcare law compliance program.
  • Drafts healthcare compliance policies, procedures, and training.
  • Assists with compliance auditing and monitoring, including data analysis.
  • Conducts legal research related to federal and state laws pertaining to life science companies.
  • Some domestic travel required.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 4-6 years of relevant substantive legal experience in a law firm or in-house legal department.
  • Strong background in the commercialization of pharmaceutical products in the US and globally, and laws, regulations, and industry standards impacting commercialization of pharmaceutical products.
  • Experience working with Commercial and Medical Affairs Departments in the life sciences industry.
  • Experience in the following areas:
    • Drafting and negotiating agreements.
    • Relevant expertise and experience with relevant laws and regulations, particularly those pertaining to healthcare compliance.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, both oral and written.
  • Strong data analysis skills.
  • Ability to work well with management, peers, and subordinates fostering an effective team spirit
  • Ability to analyze, negotiate, and manage work.
  • Polished skills in conflict resolution and problem solving.
  • Admitted to practice law in at least one state required, with eligibility for Admission by Motion to Washington State preferred.
